It has been ten years now since the last NCAA football video game was released and now we finally get EA Football 25. The expected release date is June 12th of this year. With that being said, let’s take a look at the top four teams that I’m most looking forward to playing with in the new game. This isn’t a list of the best teams, but teams with some exciting players that’ll be fun to play with in the game.

EA Sports announced the return of their college football franchise for July of 2024

Ohio State

The Buckeyes added a lot of talent on both sides of the ball this offseason which will help in real life, but also make the Buckeyes very fun to play with. Kansas State transfer QB Will Howard is projected to start, with newcomer quarterbacks Julian Sayin and Air Noland behind him. Elite running back, Quinshon Judkins, will join TreVeyon Henderson in the Buckeye backfield.

Out wide, Ohio State will have Emeka Egbuka, Brandon Inniss, Bryson Rodgers, Carnell Tate, and five-star freshman, Jeremiah Smith. On defense, they added Caleb Downs at safety, and he will be fun to roam around the secondary with in EA Football 25.

Sep 17, 2022; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (2) scores a touchdown around Toledo Rockets cornerback Chris McDonald (13) during the first half of the NCAA Division I football game at Ohio Stadium.

Ole Miss

Ole Miss is another team that hit the portal hard and came away with a lot of talent. Their class ranks first according to 247 Sports with 15 additions and they added key pieces on both sides of the ball. On defense, the Rebels added talented defensive lineman, Walter Nolan from Texas A&M. That was along with edge Princeley Umanmielen from Florida; and CB, Trey Amos from Alabama.

In addition, Ole Miss added wide receiver, Antwane “Juice” Wells Jr., from South Carolina. They poached from many SEC teams and all these guys will be fun to play with. When you add the existing Rebels like QB Jaxson Dart and RB Ulysses Bentley IV, this team will be very exciting.

Oct 8, 2022; Nashville, Tennessee, USA; Mississippi Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart (2) attempts a pass during the first half against the Vanderbilt Commodores at FirstBank Stadium.

Georgia

The Bulldogs have a lot of talent returning with a lot of talent coming in as well. They got Vanderbilt speedster wideout, London Humphreys and Florida running back Trevor Etienne out of the portal. Both of these guys add some excitement to the Georgia offense led by quarterback Carson Beck.

The defense is again loaded again with talent that will be fun to play with in the new video game. Georgia could very well end up being the highest rated team in the whole game.

Nov 18, 2023; Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck (15) passes the ball against the Tennessee Volunteers during the first half at Neyland Stadium.

Colorado

Whether you like them or not, you can’t deny that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will be very exciting to play with in the new game. They both will have very high overalls and Hunter will be playing both ways. Shilo Sanders will also be fun to lay big hits on people with. Colorado addressed a lot of their issues from last season in the portal, especially on the offensive and defensive lines. Colorado would be a great team to start a dynasty with.

Sep 2, 2023; Fort Worth, Texas, USA; Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) celebrates a touchdown in the first quarter against the TCU Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
