In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Colorado has a top-five class.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
People think I’m a Deion Sanders hater, and that’s fine. People think I hate Colorado football, and that’s fine. But I’m just being honest. Colorado has a top-10 transfer portal class with 24 commits as Sanders continues to rely on transfers but it lacks star power to be top five. The offensive line is the focus, and they landed some solid players, but they don’t have a ton of players coming off elite seasons. Maybe Deion can coach them up, but when your best guys are climbing up from Group of Five and not coming off stellar seasons, it’s a question mark.

2. Texas has a better portal class than Oklahoma heading into the SEC.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Oklahoma has 12 commits, and Texas only has eight, but the Longhorns class is much better. WR Isaiah Bond from Alabama could jump in and be elite from day one, Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba is one of the best ballhawks in the country, and LB Amari Niblack from Alabama could be a superstar. The Sooners have some nice guys like Purdue WR Deion Burks and TE Bauer Sharp, but it just lacks the star power.

3. LSU has focused more on high school.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Brian Kelly leaned on the portal early because of roster turnover when he was hired but he’s settled in now. Liberty WR CJ Daniels is a good one, but he’s one of only six portal commits for LSU as Kelly is concentrating efforts on high school — and rightly so.
