While P4 to P4 transfers get the most attention, during every transfer portal cycle more and more FCS transfers are making an impact at the highest level. This year may prove to be the most productive for FCS transfers as numerous are in position to make a statement in 2024. Here are five to watch in the Big 12:
RB Anthony Woods – Utah (Idaho)
The skinny: The FCS All-American rushed for 2,003 yards and 19 touchdowns during his two seasons with the Vandals. Now he joins a Utes backfield that has some talent, but also struggled to find much traction during the 2023 season and lost their leading rusher, Ja’Quinden Jackson, to the portal. With Cam Rising returning at quarterback, Woods could emerge as one of the top under-the-radar portal additions during this cycle.
OL Easton Kilty – Kansas State (North Dakota)
The skinny: The offensive line has been a strength for the Wildcats in recent seasons, but with most of the experience at the position departing, there were some glaring questions regarding its future. Adding Kilty was a fantastic answer to some of these questions. Having started 35 games with the Fighting Hawks, he brings experience and versatility, as he saw time at left guard, right guard and even right tackle.
TE Johncarlos Miller – Texas Tech (Elon)
The skinny: While Miller was one of two transfer tight ends to sign with the Red Raiders, the other being Jalin Conyers (Arizona State), he has the potential to make a name for himself during his time in Lubbock. At 6-foot-5, 245-pounds, Miller finished the 2023 season with 25 receptions for 453 yards and four touchdowns, while averaging 18.1 yards per reception. His big play ability should make him a valuable part of the offense in 2024.

OL Omar Aigbedion – Baylor (Montana State)
The skinny: A Texas native, Aigbedion enjoyed two very successful seasons with Montana State before entering the transfer portal. Considered one of the top run blocking guards during this cycle, he joins a Bears’ offensive line that experienced some upheaval during the off-season through transfers and a medical retirement. This will give him an immediate opportunity to play a huge role with the team this season.

OL Jalen Travis – Iowa State (Princeton)
The skinny: Good things come to those to wait. The 6-foot-9, 315-pound Minnesota native was recruited by the Cyclones out of high school, but after choosing the Ivy League, he will arrive in Ames as a grad transfer four years later. Travis was an All-Ivy League performer during his time with the Tigers and will add depth and potentially a starter this season.
