In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Kadyn Proctor is the most important OL transfer.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Proctor is the biggest name OL and has amazing upside, but Cayden Green has more natural talent and will make a much bigger impact at Missouri. The Oklahoma transfer will plug in on a team with a solid offense, and his run-blocking will be on show. Proctor can run block as well, which is key for the inept Iowa offense, but they need difference-makers all over that side of the ball, so his impact will be negated a bit.

2. Aidan Chiles is the QB who is being overlooked.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The Oregon State transfer follows Jonathan Smith to Michigan State after flashing some exciting skills and potential last season. The Spartans won’t be as bad as many think they will, and he could be the guy who surprises everyone as a massive impact QB down the line. It might not show as much this season as it will in 2025, but keep an eye on this kid. He’s dynamic.
Calling all Transfer Portal and Class of 2024 WRs that want to catch these 60-yard cannon shots from Aidan Chiles:

3. Colorado’s offensive line haul is enough.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Deion Sanders is replacing his OL through the portal it seems, and has some solid kids coming in like Tyler Johnson from Houston and Justin Mayers from UTEP, but let’s be honest — a new OL every season is hard to pull off, and there aren’t any elite talents in the group. Chemistry along the OL is key, and that’s built over seasons and year-round work, so a new group coming in might not be much of an upgrade over last year.
