In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Steve Sarkisian is worth $10 million a year.
Farrell’s take: FACT
I love how the Texas haters are saying this is like the Jimbo extension after his good 2020 season. Good luck with that. Sarkisian is building a foundation and it’s not based on a flash season during COVID and a bunch of overextended NIL promises. Texas is back legitimately and playoff runs should be the norm under Sark who is worth every penny.

2. Dante Moore could win the Oregon QB job.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
To me, it’s Dillon Gabriel barring an injury. Gabriel has the experience from last season at Oklahoma and is coming off a good season with a lot of confidence while Moore is rebuilding himself after a rough first year at UCLA. The transition for Moore will be a good one but it will take time and Gabriel is a great stop-gap replacement for Bo Nix as Moore gets more polished. Moore has more long-term potential for sure but Gabriel is the guy for now.

3. Andy Kotelnicki is the solution for the Penn State offense.
Farrell’s take: FACT
James Franklin has taken criticism for his OC hires and a conservative offense that hasn’t been explosive since Trace McSorley was in town. But Kotelnicki is arriving at the right time with a solid running back core, a QB in Drew Allar who is a step away from being special, and a young receiving core that will need to step up. He’s inventive and will get more out of the receivers and the offense will open up a bit. This is a great fit.
