In today’s Fact or Fiction — NFL Draft edition — I look at three big recent topics around the NFL Draft and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. JJ McCarthy goes top six.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The run on QBs is going to be epic. We know Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels are likely to go very high, but McCarthy is a guy NFL scouts are very high on, and he’s rising. So the Bears and Commanders will likely take QBs, and the Patriots and Cardinals are in a great place to trade down. A team like Minnesota, Vegas, Atlanta, or someone else could trade up into the top four or with the NY Giants at No. 6 to land McCarthy. And do we really believe the Pats will pass on a QB at No. 3? I think JJ lands in the top six.

2. Jayden Daniels goes before Drake Maye.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
What the Bears do at No. 1 is intriguing and I think the Commanders would be happy with either Caleb Williams or Maye at No. 2 while I see Daniels in the 3-6 range depending on who trades up or if New England takes a QB. Some say JJ McCarthy is QB2 on some boards and others say Daniels is higher than Maye for some but trust me, it will be some order of Williams and Maye for 1-2.

3. Malik Nabers is better than Marvin Harrison Jr.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
This happens every draft as people try to look “smart” and put someone ahead of a player who is hands down No. 1 at his position. And MHJ is clearly the No. 1 WR, and it’s not close. Malik Nabers is good, don’t get me wrong, and Rome Odunze has a chance to be very good as well, but Marvin Harrison Jr. will be the first WR off the board at No. 3 or No. 4 or, at worst, to the Chargers at No. 5 if teams trade up to take QBs 1-4.
