The Oregon Ducks are one of the top teams in college football that will be flush with returning talent in 2024. They also went into the transfer portal and landed playmakers on both sides of the ball. Here is a profile of three portal players that will make an impact for the Ducks in 2024.
QB Dillon Gabriel
Previous School: Oklahoma Sooners
5’11”, 204 lbs.
Dillon Gabriel brings experience and high productivity to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.
In 2023 at Oklahoma, Gabriel passed for 3,660 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only six INTs (in 384 pass attempts,) and completed 69% of his passes. Gabriel averaged 305 passing yards per game. Those numbers were good enough for #6 in the FBS. In addition, he rushed for 373 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Gabriel recorded seven games of 300+ yards passing, including three games of over 400 yards passing. Twice he threw for five touchdowns in a game. For his illustrious college career, Gabriel has totaled 14,865 passing yards, 115 touchdowns, and 26 INTs at both Oklahoma and UCF.

The impact Gabriel will have on the Oregon offense should be immediate, as he can extend plays with his legs and does not turn the ball over often. He will fit in well in Dan Lanning’s scheme, and there should be no drop-off in the passing game as he replaces Bo Nix. Gabriel will be QB1 for the season opener vs Idaho.
WR Evan Stewart
Previous School: Texas A&M Aggies
6’0”, 175 lbs.
As the top wide receiver in the transfer portal, Evan Stewart will be a talented target for fellow transfer quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Dante Moore.
Dillon Gabriel is exactly what Oregon needed to completely unleash Evan Stewart.

In 2023, Stewart hauled in 38 balls for 514 yards and four touchdowns. Against Miami, Stewart he made 11 catches for 142 yards in a loss to the Canes. His brief collegiate career numbers so far are 91 catches, 1,163 yards and six touchdowns.
Stewart joins a talented and extremely productive wide receiver room in Eugene that consists of returning starters Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, and Gary Bryant, Jr. The trio combined for 153 catches, 2,076 yards, and 20 touchdowns last season.
CB Jabbar Muhammad
Previous School: Washington Huskies
5’10”, 183 lbs.
As a 2nd Team All-PAC 12 selection last season, Jabbar Muhammad was a holy terror in the Washington secondary. With Muhammad’s coverage skills, opposing quarterbacks’ hopes of a completed pass were dead on arrival. Muhammad batted away a whopping 16 passes in 2023, including four in the Oregon State game and three vs Texas in the national semifinal.

In addition, Muhammad made 46 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and picked off three passes. His three INTs tied for first on the team and recorded a season-high two INTs vs Oregon State.
Muhammad joins fellow transfer DBs Kam Alexander, Kobe Savage, and Brandon Johnson. The Ducks also return CB Jahlil Florence and S Tysheem Johnson.
