In today’s Fact or Fiction — NFL Draft edition — I look at three big recent topics around the NFL Draft and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Caleb Williams will land with Washington.

Farrell’s take: FACT

I’m convinced that Caleb Williams and his dad Carl do not want him to play for a Chicago Bears franchise that has never developed an elite QB. The hiring of Kliff Kingsbury in Washington also speaks to a potential trade up to No. 1 for the Commanders. At No. 2 they’d still have a shot but someone is going to trade up to No. 1 with the Bears and they can’t take a chance someone else takes him. They will use draft capital to get it done.

Nov 19, 2022; Pasadena, California, USA; Southern California Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams (13) throws against the UCLA Bruins during the first half at the Rose Bowl.

2. Marvin Harrison Jr. doesn’t get past the Cardinals at No. 4.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The top three will likely be QBs whether the Bears take one or trade out but Arizona seems all in on Kyler Murray, which they have to be with the ridiculous contract he got. If he gets past the Cards I’d be stunned and they might even trade back like last year to get more future draft capital. Someone will pay a nice price to get Harrison Jr.

Nov 4, 2023; Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (18) catches a touchdown pass against Rutgers Scarlet Knights defensive back Robert Longerbeam (7) during the second half at SHI Stadium.

3. Brock Bowers will be a top 10 pick.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Some felt Bowers could slide into the top five in LA but Jim Harbaugh will go for a WR like Malik Nabers to help his QB. After that, it will likely be the Saints or Colts at 14 or 15 with a big yearning for a TE. He’s a top-10 talent and could rise and TEs are as important as ever in the NFL, but so many teams have bigger needs.

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers (19) drives down the field after pulling in a pass from Georgia quarterback Carson Beck (15) during the second half of a NCAA college football game against Kentucky in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023.
