After flirting with the NFL, Cam Ward had a change of heart and pledged his commitment to Miami as a graduate transfer. In 2023, Ward passed for 3,376 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just seven INTs (in 485 pass attempts). He completed 66% of his passes.

Ward posted three games of over 400 yards, four games of over 300 yards, and he did not throw an INT until week 5 (14 TDs over that stretch). Accuracy is not an issue, as Ward completed 70% or better of his passes in six games last season. For his college career, one that includes two seasons at the FCS level, Ward has 13,875 passing yards and 119 touchdowns.
Ward is a serious upgrade at the position for Offensive Coordinator Shannon Dawson. Ward averaged 311 yards passing per game last season, ranked #4 in the FBS. Miami averaged 258 yards passing as a team, ranked #43 nationally.
