The transfer portal closes for new entries on January 2nd and there are still some quality wide receivers still available for teams looking to upgrade their skill positions. Will they find landing spots in soft green grass on the other side, or will they fall from their lofty pedestals with a resounding thud? We shall see. Below are five of the top receivers still in the portal.
Evan Stewart
Texas A&M Aggies
6’0”, 175 lbs.
Rated as the #1 wide receiver in the transfer portal, Evan Stewart caught 38 passes for 514 yards and four touchdowns in eight games this season. Stewart posted two games over 100 yards receiving, both within the first two weeks of the season (257 yards, 2 TDs). For his career in College Station, Stewart has 91 receptions for 1,163 yards and six touchdowns.

Stewart was a 5-star recruit ranked as the #1 wide receiver in the class of 2022 out of Liberty High School in Frisco, TX. Despite his “lack” of production on the field (an apparent and serious misuse of talent by former head coach Jimbo Fisher), Stewart is considered a game-changer who possesses great speed, good lateral quickness, and can juke defenders out of their cleats.
It has been reported that possible destinations for Stewart include Florida State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon, and USC.
