This article breaks down five of my bold predictions, overreactions if you will, coming away from the early signing period.
1. Billy Napier doesn’t survive 2024
Florida fans and boosters held on to the notion that Florida had a top five class coming in as they overlooked two losing seasons. But with the class falling apart and a vicious 2024 schedule there is no way Billy Napier gets out of the season as head coach. His final five games — Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss and Florida State. Not good.
2. Colorado will be in worse shape when Deion exits
This won’t end well as Deion’s recruiting approach makes two things clear. No. 1 he is naive to the ways of college football and program building in the Power Five. No. 2 he isn’t there for the long haul. Deion wants a quick fix so he’s ignoring high school recruiting for the portal and that could leave the cupboard very bare if and when he decides to leave.
3. The SEC will win every National Title from the 2024 season until 2028
Maybe Alabama wins it this year but that’s to be seen. But in 2024 and for the foreseeable future the SEC will rule the world as usual. Why? Texas is recruiting at an elite level and Oklahoma continues to put together top 10 classes. The only non-SEC programs that have put together back to back elite classes are Oregon and Ohio State and, while they will be dangerous, there are just too many good SEC programs that are building juggernauts.

4. Miami will win the ACC sooner than later
Question Mario Cristobal’s in-game coaching if you want but you can’t question his ability to recruit and build a talented roster. And talent eventually wins out. The ACC isn’t exactly loaded at the top and Miami will break through likely in 2025 as he’ll continue to load up on elite classes.
5. Notre Dame will remain mid
And by mid I mean a 8 or 9 win program so I guess that’s upper level mid. But even with a recruiting boost from Marcus Freeman over Brian Kelly, Notre Dame is still behind around seven SEC programs annually in recruiting talent and are behind Ohio State, Oregon, Florida State and Clemson in my mind when it comes to luring elite players.
