We’re back after another week of exciting games and matchups in college football. The
coaches, along with the AP, have their own poll and rankings each
week, but I have mine as well. There was a major injury along with
a heartbreaking loss that shook things up, so let’s check out this
week.
1. Georgia
Georgia remains at the top spot after they pulled out a
tough win against their rival Georgia Tech 31-23. It wasn’t the best
game from Carson Beck, as he only threw for 175 yards with a
touchdown and one interception. It’s a good thing Kendall Milton picked
up the slack, adding 156 yards on the ground along with two scores.
Now they look towards the SEC championship against Alabama on
their way to another College Football Playoff. With a win over the Tide, Kirby Smart can officially take the title of best coach in the nation away from Nick Saban.

2. Michigan
The Wolverines came out on top in one of the best, if not the best, rivalry games in all of college football. They defeated Ohio
State 30-24 in a back-and-forth game that came down to the last
drive.
Kyle McCord threw one of his two interceptions to end it, and with that, it became a third straight win for Michigan over the Buckeyes. They
were led once again by Blake Corum after he gained a tough 88
yards on the ground, along with two scores. They have the Big Ten
title game up next against Iowa.

3. Washington
The Huskies ended the season undefeated as they beat
their rival Washington State 24-21 on a last-second field goal. While the score may be close, they still handled their business as it is always tough to win on the
road, especially against a rival.
Michael Penix Jr. didn’t have the
best day, given his standards, but Rome Odunze came up big when
they needed him. He finished the day with seven catches for 120
yards and two touchdowns. They have a huge rematch coming up
against Oregon in the PAC-12 title game. If Oregon ends up
winning, the committee has a very tough decision on its hands.
Buckle up.

4. Oregon
The Ducks jump all the way from six up to number four,
which is huge for them. They took it to Oregon State this past
weekend in a blowout win ending with a score of 31-7. Bo Nix had himself a day
throwing for almost 400 yards, along with two scores.
They now
only sit with one loss, which was to Washington early in the season, who sits one spot ahead of them. Now, they look towards the
PAC-12 championship in an exciting rematch against the Huskies.
This one, as they say, is “for all the marbles.”

5. Florida State
Florida State fans all over were in shambles because of what
happened a couple of weeks ago. They were well on their way to the
playoffs and still might be, but that all came crashing down with the
severe season-ending injury to Heisman contender Jordan Travis.
Everyone knows that if you want to win big, you have to have a
signal caller who leads the team. Well, the Seminoles have
unfortunately lost that.
Now, they can still go where they want to go,
but the backup has got to come in and hold steady. Having Keon Coleman on the outside won’t hurt either. I still like the
makeup of the team, but the Travis injury will hurt a lot (no pun
intended) and that is why they are now sitting at number five. They
have a Louisville squad that just stumbled against their in-state rival Kentucky in the
ACC championship coming up next. If they win in impressive fashion, they could very well be back in the top four. We shall see.
