Everyone loves lists. The best this, the strongest that. Let’s apply that randomly to college football, shall we?
Best one-loss teams
1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Texas
4. Louisville
5. Tulane
Breakdown:
Alabama over Texas even though they lost to them? Yep. I think this team is different from the one we saw earlier this season, and they would handle business. Oregon is dangerous even though they don’t have a win over a team in the current Top 25, and Jeff Brohm and Willie Fritz should both be in the coach of the year discussion.

Top NFL QBs
1. Drake Maye, UNC
2. Caleb Williams, USC
3. Michael Penix Jr., Washington
4. Bo Nix, Oregon
5. JJ McCarthy, Michigan
Breakdown:
This isn’t as easy as it looks, as McCarthy has struggled recently and has been phased out of the offense at times so others could make a push. Maye has always been my No. 1 guy, and honestly, I’d consider Penix Jr. or Nix over Williams if his attitude issues are too much to handle.

Best players getting little attention.
1. WR Malik Washington, Virginia
2. S Xavier Watts, Notre Dame
3. LB Jay Higgins, Iowa
4. RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
5. WR Xavier Legette, South Carolina
Breakdown:
Washington has simply been amazing this season, and people overlook how good Watts has been for ND. Higgins leads an unbelievable defense, while Hampton has had a great season without much notice. And imagine where the Gamecocks would be without Leggette?
