In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Jim Harbaugh will serve a suspension.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
This is a hunch, as I think legal action may stall this. The Big Ten will come down with some minor punishment like a fine and perhaps a suspension for Harbaugh, but it’s unlikely he will serve it. The goal of Michigan is to kick this down the road with due process legality as long as they can and allow this team to go and win it all and face possible consequences later.
Don’t expect any action by the Big Ten in the Michigan sign stealing case for at least the next 48 hours, as the league’s sportsmanship rules allow for a “reasonable” chance to respond to an institution or individual. Sources have told ESPN that they’ll be a legal battle if…

2. Michigan is the best team in the country.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Make no mistake about it: this is the most balanced team in college football. There are few weaknesses, and whatever you think about cheating and all that, they can straight up beat anyone with zero advantages. Is it why people are scared and making up allegations? That’s idiotic, as that would have happened to Alabama and others over the years. Something went down. We just don’t know what yet. But they are a talented team.

3. Arch Manning should play if Quinn Ewers can’t.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Why not? Maalik Murphy hasn’t looked promising, and Manning is supposed to be the best recruit ever, according to some. I think he’s vastly overrated, but I’m more than willing to eat those words over time if he plays like his uncles. But his physical skills alone should allow him more success than Murphy with Texas’ season on the line against TCU.
