Recruiting is well underway for the 2025 class, and signal caller Ryan Montgomery is taking full advantage of it. After releasing his top-five of Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and South Carolina in August, the Findlay, Ohio QB has begun his season visits, and one thing about the prolific passer has stood out.
Montgomery is in the middle of an electric Junior season, as he already broke the Findlay HS career passing yards record in late September. He’s accumulated over 6,000 yards in his short High School career.

So far, Montgomery visited Michigan in July, plus September game visits to South Carolina and Florida. The 6’3″ 215-pound prospect will be visiting Beamer and the Gamecocks again next weekend for the Florida game and Auburn later in the month when take on Mississippi State. Despite the Tigers not making the top five, they are moving into the recruitment and receiving a visit.

There is one thing in common here. The SEC. Montgomery has three Southeastern Conference teams in his top five and has scheduled visits to two in the past weeks. While Georgia and Auburn seem to have switched places in his recruitment, the point still stands as Auburn is still in the SEC. I fully expect the Ohio QB to head south and play in the SEC, and with his recent scheduled visits, fans of these teams are only gaining hope in calling this QB the “future.”
Florida is viewed as the leader for his recruitment after his in-game visit against Tennessee, but the Gamecocks and the Tigers are certainly in it for the Midwest QB.
Within the unreleased 2025 MFS Staff rankings, Montgomery will rank inside the top 15 and second in his state at the QB position.
