In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Spencer Rattler was right about the Vols.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Rattler said that the Vols treated their game against the Gamecocks as their Super Bowl and it’s beyond dumb. Rattler, who was booed and had Vols fans repeat “f*** you Spencer” in this past weekend’s 41-20 loss after destroying them last season said this…
“I must be doing something right if they keep saying that the whole night… If you ain’t got haters, you ain’t popping. … Credit to them, they did a great job. It was like their Super Bowl tonight, so congrats to them.”
That’s interesting shade but the Vols have Alabama and Georgia in their schedule not to mention ranked teams in Kentucky and Missouri so I don’t think they really focused on South Carolina as the highlight of their season.

2. Losing Cade McNamara is a setback for the Iowa offense.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
No one wants injuries and McNamara apparently being out for the season with a knee injury sucks. But can it make the Iowa offense any worse? Nope. McNamara was completing 51% of his passes with 4 TDs and 3 picks as the Iowa offense has been horrendous. Iowa ranks ahead of only Sam Houston State in the country in average yards per game. Losing McNamara can’t hurt.

3. Hugh Freeze is the perfect fit for Auburn.
Farrell’s take: FACT
It’s ugly right now but give it time. Auburn’s QB play is awful and the passing game stinks but they are still 3-2 and almost beat the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs this past weekend. Freeze is showing his coaching ability that has led to wins over Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, and others in his time at Ole Miss. The man can coach and he’s going to be a problem before too long in the SEC.
