The best thing for college football? Deion Sanders. But some think he’s the worst thing as well. Here’s your dose of Daily Deion.
Disclaimer: I have always been a fan of Deion Sanders. Loved him as a player at FSU, in Atlanta, and Dallas, and even respected him as a 49er against my Cowboys.
Ok this is starting to grow on me a bit. I expected USC to blow out Colorado and it looked like that was going to happen with the Trojans up 34-14 at the half. But then Deion inspired his team at the half and they outscored USC 27-14 in the second half. We can all talk about how Lincoln Riley doesn’t care about defense and how bad Alex Grinch is as a DC but it doesn’t matter — Colorado almost won this football game without their best skill position player Travis Hunter.
Deion’s team played hard, they played inspired, and they never gave up on themselves, which could have easily happened after being dominated last week against Oregon and the way the USC offense went through them in the first half. We can say TCU is average and Nebraska and Colorado State stink, but we can’t say any of that about USC led by Heisman winner Caleb Williams. This was a legit national title contender and Colorado took them to the final round.

So where do we go now? Arizona State and Stanford are next and should be two wins to push Colorado to 5-2 this clearly looks like a bowl-bound football team. I know there were some hoping USC would beat Colorado down worse than Oregon and the Buffs and the hype would slow down en route to a 4-8 or 5-7 season but it doesn’t appear that’s happening. This could be a scary team next season.
