The best thing for college football? Deion Sanders. But some think he’s the worst thing as well. Here’s your dose of Daily Deion.
Did I miss it? Maybe I did. Has Deion come out and apologized for his team’s behavior pre-game against the Oregon Ducks? Before you read further, watch this if you haven’t seen it.

After the 42-6 drilling of Colorado, the Ducks’ social media team put the above video together showing many aspects of the game including some pre-game stuff. Deion’s son, Shilo Sanders, is seen taking absolute smack and making threats on the field to the Oregon players while coaches try to keep their players calm and focused. You can also see Colorado players scuffing up the Oregon logo midfield with their cleats and other examples of mockery and disrespect from the Buffs players before the game. Remember when CU players were up in arms when they felt Nebraska disrespected their logo midfield before their home game against the Huskers? They didn’t like it, so they go out and do it themselves? C’mon man.
Honestly, I don’t care. I’ve seen it all and all of it is fine. But when I keep hearing about how Deion is a great mentor of young men (and he is, I’m not arguing that), I’d expect him to head this off at the pass before the game as Dan Lanning seemed to do with his players expecting this treatment. Or at the very least admonish them after the game. After all, the biggest culprit was his own flesh and blood. While he may not have been aware of this while it was happening, as head coaches are very busy before games, he was undoubtedly made aware of it after the video came out.
Deion deserves the accolades and adoration that comes with what he’s done at Colorado and how he’s made a 1-11 team the focus of the College Football world. And he deserves praise for his love of his players. But with all of that also comes scrutiny when you allow them to do the wrong thing and their behavior pre-game was wrong. Oregon got their revenge by destroying the Buffs but Deion should have addressed this. Maybe he did internally but I missed it publicly which is odd because everything Deion does publicly seems to make the headlines.
