High school ball is back in full fledge mode, and there were lots of
outstanding performances to take note of. In this series, I recap the best performances from each week around the state of
Tennessee. Let’s take a look at week six.

1. QB Braden Graham (Senior)

Riverdale HS, Murfreesboro, TN

Stats (Week Six): 21-27 (78%), 259 Yds, 5 TD

In the past couple of weeks, Graham has put on a show for the
Warriors. Coming off of a week when he completed over 90% of his
passes, he was at it again this week. In a blowout win over Coffee
County, he amassed 259 yards and five touchdowns on a 78%
completion percentage in only one half of gameplay. He now sits fifth in the state in passing
yards with 1,456.

Riverdale’s Jojo Smith (8) and Riverdale’s Braden Graham (12) celebrate Riverdale’s win over Smyrna.

2. S D’mon Marable (Senior)

Clinton HS, Clinton, TN

Stats (Week Six): 19 Tackles, 1 Int, 1 TD

While it was a tough loss this past week against Oak Ridge,
it certainly wasn’t because of Marable. He ended up with almost 20
tackles, finishing with 19, along with a pick-six. While he does play
defensive back, he is a tackling machine. He sits fifth in the state
in that category with 78, while sitting at the top in division 5A.

Clinton Dragons D’mon Marable (8) returns an interception for a touchdown against the Oak Ridge Wildcats.

3. DE Kenderrius Robertson (Junior)

Mitchell HS, Memphis, TN

Stats (Week Six): 9 Tckls, 3 TFL, 3 Sacks

The nations sack leader was at it again this week wreaking
havoc. While he is undersized for an edge rusher sitting at only 215
lbs, he uses his amazing speed and quickness to get in the backfield
time after time. This past week against Freedom Prep Academy, he
racked up three more sacks to give him a total of 19 on the season.
Mind you it has only been six games, which is mind blowing.
Someone should start taking notice of this star in the making.

Mitchell’s Kenderrius Robertson waits for the next defensive drill during football practice.

4. DL Kaleb Newsome (Senior)

Jackson Christian HS, Jackson, TN

Stats (Week Six): 9 Tackles, 4 TFL, 3 Sacks

While being undersized for a defensive lineman, only
measuring in at 5’11, his heart and tenacity surely make up for it.
The Jackson native is a bowling ball who just makes plays. This past
week against a tough Tipton-Rosemark Academy team, he came
away with nine tackles and three sacks. He now sits at fourth in the
state with seven.

5. CB Brandon Nicholson (Senior)

Memphis University HS, Memphis, TN

Stats (Week Six): 3 Ints, 2 FF

Range and athleticism is the name of the game with
Brandon. Measuring in at 6’0, he has the prototypical size that you
want in DBs nowadays that you love. While he has the size, he also
has the fluidity along with ball skills that you can’t teach. This past
week against a great program in Ensworth, he came away with three
picks and two forced fumbles. He now sits at fourth in the state in
interceptions with five.

MUS Makhi Shaw (3) and Brandon Nicholson (0) celebrate after Nicholson caught an interception and ran it back for a touchdown.
