Might as well do a check-in on the state of Florida, right? Here are my power rankings of the Big Four as far as play on the field, recruiting, and potential moving forward.
1. FSU
— Not much to say here, right? The Seminoles should be the No. 1 team in the country in my book. recruiting is going very well, and they should be very effective in the portal again this cycle. Mike Norvell has them head and shoulders above everyone else in the state. A natty could happen this season.

2. Miami
— The Mario Cristobal haters are quiet now, but give them time. Miami hasn’t turned a corner yet, but they are inching closer. Recruiting has been up and down, but I expect a massive 2025 cycle, and the roster will be greatly enhanced in the portal. They are still a couple of seasons away from where FSU is, but they are moving in the right direction.

3. Florida
— The huge win over Tennessee and massive recruiting success in the 2024 class have them ahead of UCF in a close battle. There are still many challenges ahead for Billy Napier, and he’s clearly as good as his last outing for this fan base, as we see by the criticisms after the Charlotte game. But if they remain patient, he’s the guy.

4. UCF
— The loss to Kansas State was expected as the adjustment to the Big 12 will be a tough one. But recruiting is going very well for them, Gus Malzahn is the right coach, and I still think they are a sleeping giant in their new conference. It will just take a couple of seasons of adjustment.
