High school ball is back in full fledge mode, and there were lots of
outstanding performances to take note of. In this new series, I will do
a recap of the best performances from each week around the state of
Tennessee. Let’s take a look at week three.
1. RB Tripp Pinion (Junior)
White County HS, Sparta, TN
Stats (Week Three) 25 car, 302 yds, 4 TDs
The star from White County had himself another big game
this past Friday. He ran for over 300 yards and four touchdowns in a
tough loss to Cookeville. He leads the the state in total points and
touchdowns, while coming in at second in rushing yards.
2. WR Tyler Cross (Senior)
Sullivan East HS, Bluff City, TN
Stats (Week Three) 4 catches, 158 yds, 1 TD
The state’s leading receiver in yards came up big again. In
a blowout win against Volunteer, he came away with 4 catches and
158 yards, averaging a whopping 39.5 yards per catch. This is
becoming a weekly norm for Cross.
3. RB Isaiah Groves (Junior)
East Robertson HS, Cross Plains, TN
Stats (Week Three) 17 carries, 201 yds, 1 TD
As the younger brother of 2024 Kentucky commit Elijah
Groves, Isaiah has a lot of game himself. Against Monterey, he ran
for over 200 yards for the third straight week. He sits at number
three in the state in rushing yards as of now, but if he keeps this up
he may be on his way to 2K.
4. QB Drake Fisher (Senior)
Sullivan East HS, Bluff City, TN
Stats (Week Three) 22-40, 358 yds, 5 TDs
Drake Fisher was at it once again this past Friday. As the
top passer in the state in yards and touchdowns, he did nothing but
separate himself even further. This past week, he threw for nearly
400 yards and five touchdowns. He and his counterpart, Tyler Cross, may be the best QB-WR duo in the state.

5. CB JaQarrius Hurdle (Junior)
Ripley HS, Ripley, TN
Stats (Week Three) 10 tackles, 2 PDs
JaQarrius is Mr. Consistent. Long and very thin, but will
come up and hit you while being lockdown in coverage as well. This
past week against Bolivar Central in a tough win, he ended up with
double-digit tackles notching 10, while also being stingy in coverage
with two deflections. He is also tied for first in the state with three
interceptions.
