Upsets are a part of what makes college football so great. Last season we had Southern Miss beating Miami, App State beating a top-ten Texas A&M team, and many more notable underdog winners. Today, we’re going to take a look at each top-five team and see which game they are most likely to get upset in. Let’s start with the Georgia Bulldogs.

1. Georgia
If Tennessee is good at the end of the season and beats Georgia, I wouldn’t really consider that an upset. With that being said, the most likely upset for the Bulldogs would be Ole Miss. This game is the week before Georgia travels to Knoxville and, even though the game is a home game for the Dawgs, this could be a trap game. It was hard for me to pick another game since their schedule is pretty weak. Lane Kiffin and company could become a challenge for Georgia come November.

2. Michigan
Similar to the Georgia vs. Tennessee situation, I wouldn’t consider Michigan losing to Penn State upset this year. Michigan also has a relatively easy schedule, so it was hard to find a game for them as well. I’m going with their October 21st meeting with Michigan State. The Spartans had a down year in 2022 after winning 11 games in 2021. Michigan State also beat the Wolverines that year in East Lansing. This game has the rivalry factor as well and Spartan Stadium will be rocking. Don’t be surprised to see Sparty being competitive and possibly pulling the upset in this one.

3. Ohio State
Same as with Michigan, a loss to the Nittany Lions wouldn’t be the upset, and after watching Sam Hartman, neither would Notre Dame. So I am going to go with the Buckeyes trip to Madison, Wisconsin. They travel there the week after their game against Penn State. Tanner Mordecai has been impressive in camp and running back Braelon Allen is poised for a big year. It wouldn’t shock me at all to see the Badgers get the win in this one. This would be a huge statement win in Luke Fickel’s first season at Wisconsin.

4. Alabama
I think that the Crimson Tide’s trip to College Station might give them some trouble again. They lost to Texas A&M two seasons ago and barely hung on to beat them at home last year. A&M has made some internal changes that should help with their offense. People like to forget how many elite recruits are on this team. Also, I truly believe they have a good quarterback for the first time in the whole Jimbo Fisher era. This sets up for a perfect storm, especially with a first-year starter for Alabama.

5. LSU
LSU starts the season with a huge top-ten matchup vs. Florida State. They follow that up with a game vs. Grambling and then an interesting trip to Starkville. They take on Mississippi State in a noon game in week three. If LSU beats FSU, they could be riding on their high horse and come into this game sluggish and not take the Bulldogs seriously, especially since it is a noon game. Mississippi State is a good team and seemingly underrated every year. I think they have the ingredients to pull off this upset.
