Football season is back, and as many high schools are playing or preparing for their first game this week, some of the nation’s elite are nearing their commitment day. Several top prospects are poised to commit over the next two weeks, and I’m here to give my opinion on where they could end up.

Daniel Hill

Four-star athlete Daniel Hill currently has his list narrowed down to five. The schools that made the final cut are Alabama, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC. This seems to be a South Carolina – Alabama battle down the stretch for the Meridian, Mississippi native. Both schools are pursuing him heavily, and have let him know that he is a top priority as a running back.

It’s a tough one to call, but I’m gonna give the slight edge to Alabama. I’m not super confident in this pick, but the Tide have a much better history with running backs, and they don’t have any committed in the 2024 cycle compared to one for the Gamecocks. It just makes more sense to me.

Prediction: Alabama

David Stone

Five-star defensive lineman David Stone is one of the most disruptive players in the country. He has a final six of Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M but to me, this is an Oklahoma – Miami battle, with Michigan State hovering around at third. Oklahoma was the leader for a very long time, and still is in my opinion, but Miami has made up a ton of ground.

Both schools have a lot going for them in terms of relationships, with Oklahoma possessing commitments from some of his close friends in Jayden Jackson and Mykel Patterson-McDonald. Meanwhile, Miami has former teammates of Stone on their team in Francis Mauigoa, Jayden Wayne, and Antonio Tripp.

Although Stone plays in the state of Florida now, he grew up in Oklahoma, giving the Sooners a bit of a home-field advantage. I’m going to go with Oklahoma here, simply because of how long they’ve been in the race, as well as everything else going in their favor.

Prediction: Oklahoma

Noreel White

2024 ATH Noreel White poses for a picture

Four-star cornerback Noreel White will choose between Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss on August 25th. I’m going to keep this one relatively short and sweet. Ole Miss is the hometown team and I consider them the leader in this recruitment. While we will see teams take a final swing at him before decision day, I still expect White to end up in Oxford.

Prediction: Ole Miss
