Jackson Kollock breaks down his Minnesota Visit with Cory Lemer of Mike Farrell Sports

After the clock struck midnight on July 31st, 2025 recruits could be contacted by colleges. Jackson Kollock took full advantage of this as he visited Minnesota on August 2nd. I recently spoke with the three-star QB to break down what happened during the visit.

Kollock hails from Laguna Beach, California, and attends Laguna Beach High School. Kollock ranks as a top 50 QB in the Mike Farrell Sports Staff 2025 QB rankings and holds seven offers, all of which are from this year. Minnesota offered him in May, and he wasted no time visiting the Big Ten school.

Jackson Kollock jumps for a picture during his visit to the University of Minnesota.

Evaluation

Kollock will enter his Junior season in the fall leaving only two years of film to evaluate him. The Laguna Beach quarterback tossed thirty-two touchdowns to only three interceptions with over two thousand passing yards in his Sophomore season. He has an elite build for the QB position; standing at 6-5 215, and displays a great arm with solid accuracy. However, his pocket presence can use work as he tends to lose sight of where defenders are at times. Kollock is capable of using his legs to escape the pocket and create big plays for his offense. As a QB, he displays the traits he needs to be successful; however, with two years of High School left, his traits can be improved to prepare him for the next level. You can look at his highlights here.

Breaking Down The Visit

Kollock is coming off his recent visit with the Golden Gophers and discussed his visit and plans for the future.

“It was amazing, I loved what they are building, and I love the coaching staff.”

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

Kollock loves Head Coach PJ Fleck and Co-Offensive Coordinator Greg Harbaugh Jr. and feels that the culture being built in Minnesota can become successful. He spoke with both coaches while on his visit, and it appears they will be the two lead recruiters for the remainder of his recruitment. The philosophy and the message a school brings are a big part of the recruitment process, and Kollock thinks Minnesota brought their “A” game in that aspect.

“Their message is Row the Boat, which is all about the direction you’re going and the sacrifices you make and the energy you put in.”

It is clear he loves the message the coaches are putting in his ear. Minnesota made a great impression on the quarterback, and I would not be surprised to see the West Coast signal caller visiting the Golden Gophers again.

Future Plans

Jackson is working towards his Junior season, where he hopes to impress scouts, earn more offers, and rise in the rankings. As for visits, Kollock has a few visits planned and a few other schools he would like to visit.

“I am planning to visit Cal and Washington during the season.”

Along with these two West Coast schools, Kollock plans to visit Fresno State, Colorado, and Kentucky. His recruitment is starting to take off, and we can expect more exciting visits, offers, and news in the recruitment of three-star QB Jackson Kollock.
