I’ll start previewing position groups in the Power Five. Here’s a look at the QB situations in the Big Ten conference.
Big 3
1. Michigan
— JJ McCarthy is the best QB coming back with any experience, but he needs to improve his accuracy.
2. Penn State
— The hype around Drew Allar is massive, and he has a chance to live up to it.
3. Ohio State
— Kyle McCord is the leader in the clubhouse now, but whoever wins the job should put up massive numbers.

The Middle Class
4. Maryland
— Maybe I’m disrespecting Taulia Tagovailoa based on his numbers, but the ones above him have more talent around them.
5. Purdue
— I like Hudson Card and think he has a big year.
More Sports News
6. Wisconsin
— Tanner Mordecai put up nice numbers at SMU, and new OC Phil Longo developed Sam Howell and Drake Maye.
7. Iowa
— Cade McNamara is solid but will the offense be awful with Brian Ferentz back?
8. Nebraska
— Jeff Sims has experience and won the job in surprising fashion over Casey Thompson and others.

More Questions Than Answers
9. Illinois
— Luke Altmyer is untested so this is a question mark as there’s a big drop off in experience after Nebraska.
10. Michigan State
— Payton Thorne left which means a lack of experience and potentially a drop-off in talent could occur.
11. Minnesota
— Athan Kaliakmanis hasn’t shown a whole lot in limited time behind center.
12. Rutgers
— Gavin Wimsatt should win the job, and he was highly regarded out of high school, but he looked bad last season.
13. Northwestern
— Brendan Sullivan showed some signs, but the team is just so bad.
14. Indiana
— Tayven Jackson is a complete unknown.
