2024 is slated to be another big year for quarterbacks at the top of the draft. Here are my top five picks.

1. Drake Maye, UNC

Sep 10, 2022; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye (10) drops back to pass against the Georgia State Panthers in the first half at Center Parc Stadium.

2. Caleb Williams, USC

Nov 26, 2022; Los Angeles, California, USA; Southern California Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams (13) runs the ball against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during the first half at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

3. Bo Nix, Oregon

Oct 29, 2022; Berkeley, California, USA; Oregon quarterback Bo Nix (10) runs the ball for a touchdown against The California Golden Bears during the second quarter at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium.

4. Michael Penix Jr., Washington

Nov 19, 2022; Seattle, Washington, USA; Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (9) passes against the Colorado Buffaloes during the first quarter at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

5. Michael Pratt, Tulane

Jan 2, 2023; Arlington, Texas, USA; Tulane Green Wave quarterback Michael Pratt (7) and USC Trojans defensive lineman Nick Figueroa (99) in action during the game between the USC Trojans and the Tulane Green Wave in the 2023 Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium.

Breakdown:

I’d take Maye over Williams because he’s bigger, can move just as well, and has a better mental makeup. Williams is an exceptional talent, but he can be a bit of a diva and has some on and off-field eccentricity that would make me pause when taking him as a No. 1 overall. Penix Jr. has the bigger arm, but I’m not a fan of drafting lefty QBs for many reasons so I have Nix slightly ahead, and Pratt is a solid round two option.
