We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on top prospects from across the country.

Michael Uini – OT

Copperas Cove, TX (Copperas Cove High School)

Offensive tackle prospect that has very good height and size. Very good strength, as he regularly overpowers his opponent and can drive them off the ball. He fits well on double teams to help his teammate overpower the defender allowing them to move up to the next level. Good athletic ability, displays the ability to get good blocks on second level defenders. Solid puller in the run game as he gets to the spot and takes the defender out of the play. Finishes blocks well. Very good in pass pro, he is quick out of his stance and has the athletic ability to meet the defender coming off the edge. Shows a good anchor; he doesn’t lose ground once he sets his feet setting the pocket for the QB. Smart player that reads the blitz well and identifies the immediate threat to the QB.

He needs to work on finding work at the second and third level of the defense, he will lock onto a defender that he has already taken out of the play and miss opportunities to work onto another defender to create more space for the ball carrier. He has some position flexibility along the offensive line, but his size and arm length will suit him better on the outside at OT. Good overall prospect that will be a good addition to any offensive scheme. He would be a good fit for a balanced team in the Big 10 where he can showcase his skills in both the run and passing games. Should work his way into the rotation quickly and develop into an every down player.

Gekyle Baker – WR

Brownsboro, TX (Brownsboro High School)

Wide receiver prospect that has good height and solid size. Good speed and athleticism, he is able to track the ball well and use his speed to position himself well to make the catch. Shows good hands, he’s able to high point the ball well and positions his body in his favor to make the catch consistently. Solid strength shown as a blocker and in contested catch scenarios against DBs. Good ball carrier after the catch, as he mostly relies on speed moves to find an opening in the defense. He is a good receiving option in the screen game he navigates traffic well and has the speed to run away from defenders.

Limited route tree mostly ran go’s, posts, and curls from the X and Z position on the outside. Although he wasn’t asked to make plays across the middle of the field. He also played DB where he showed an ability to generate turnovers, solid zone coverage skills, and solid tackling ability. Multi-sport athlete that ran track and played basketball at the high school level. He would be a good fit for one of the pass-first oriented teams in the Big 12, where he can utilize his skills in the passing game. Should work his way into the rotation quickly and develop into an every down player.

Ka’Davion Dotson – SAF

Duncanville, TX (Duncanville High School)

DB prospect that has good height and solid size. Displays good speed and athleticism. Smart player that reads the offense well and positions himself in good spots to make plays. Good tackler that will consistently get the ball carriers to the ground. He has good hands and is able to generate interceptions. Very good zone coverage ability, he has a good break on the ball and displays the correct timing to initiate contact when the ball arrives creating PBUs. Solid man coverage ability, has the athletic ability to consistently stay in phase with receivers. An immediate contributor on special teams, he is good on both return and coverage units.

He is an aggressive player that will jump routes to try and generate turnovers, this can leave him exposed to double moves. A versatile player that can play both corner and Safety, he also played some receiver in high school. Multi-sport athlete that ran track at the high school level. He would be a good addition to any defense, he would be a good fit in the AAC where he can show off his coverage skills to help generate turnovers for his team. Dakyus Brinkley – Edge

Katy, TX (Katy High School, Seven Lakes High School)

Edge prospect that has very good height and size. Good strength as he overpowers TE and RBs when they attempt to block him in pass protection. Good speed and athleticism that help him quickly break into the backfield. Smart player that understands how the offense is attacking and positions himself to make plays on the ball carrier. Shows good timing and vision on the QB to get his hands into the passing lanes on passing downs. Posseses a quick first step and a good ability to shed blocks quickly to make plays in the backfield.

He tends to play high giving up his leverage to blockers and allowing tough runners to break tackles if he’s not low enough. Multi-sport athlete that also played track and field at the high school level. He would be a good addition to any defense, he would be a good fit in the Big 12 where he can show his pass rush abilities. Should work his way onto the field quickly as a situational pass rusher and develop into an every down player with college training and coaching.
