In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Mississippi ATH Braylon Burnside stays in state.
Farrell’s take: FACT
A recent visit to Texas A&M really turned his head, but let’s be real — this is likely a Mississippi State and Ole Miss battle with the Aggies, Arkansas, Auburn, and others trying to pull the upset and get him out of state. I give the strong edge to Mississippi State for the Starkville native. It will be hard to leave his home city school.

2. TJ Lindsey still lands at Texas A&M.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The departure of Kevin Mashack is interesting, as it was rumored a while ago and now appears to have happened. He was key in the Aggies’ recruiting success despite being there for a short time and had a great relationship with Lindsey. While the Aggies aren’t out of this at all, this allows Notre Dame, Miami, Auburn, USC, and his home state Arkansas to give battle. A&M was the leader in my book, but that has shifted.

3. Williams Nwaneri and David Stone land at Oklahoma.
Farrell’s take: FACT
A double dip? Yep. I’ve said Stone is a lean to OU for a while now despite his mom wanting him out of state. I knew and still feel confident that Brent Venables can overcome this issue, and he’s too good a coach for Stone to pass on playing for. As for Nwaneri, the Missouri native loved yet another visit to OU recently, and it’s down to the Sooners and Tennessee. OU just has too much firepower now with former teammates and a great connection to the family to lose out, although his official to the Vols is looming.
