DB Josh Wallace (UMass to Michigan)
The skinny: Wallace only recently entered the portal, but quickly became the hottest available player. After piling up offers and taking official visits to Ann Arbor, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech he then committed to the Wolverines. And now the four-year starter at UMass will likely be the starter opposite Will Johnson. The experience and production he brings to Michigan, which includes 28 career pass break-ups, should prove invaluable to the Wolverines’ defense this fall.

OL Josh Simmons (San Diego State to Ohio State)
The skinny: Ohio State entered spring practice with some questions on the offensive line and at the conclusion many of those same questions still lingered. The top concern was at right tackle, which was quickly addressed by the addition of Simmons. Having started 13 games as a redshirt freshman at right tackle in 2022, he will be expected to push for the starting job immediately upon his arrival in Columbus.
WR Kaleb Brown (Ohio State to Iowa)
The skinny: As any college football fan knows, the Iowa offense was far from dynamic during the 2022 season. The Hawkeyes have attempted to remedy some of these issues through the portal and continued to do that with the addition of Brown. One of the top high school wide receivers in the Class of 2022, he was buried behind a deep and extremely talented group at Ohio State, before deciding that he needed a change of scenery. Soon after he entered the portal, he took a visit to Iowa which quickly led to his commitment. With the Hawkeyes, Brown has the potential to become the top receiver immediately, which should go a long way in revitalizing the offensive unit.
DB Tyler Bride (Georgia Southern to Minnesota)
The skinny: With the cornerback group enduring a great deal of upheaval since the conclusion of the 2022 season, the Gophers have had to add a few new players through the portal. Coming off his best collegiate season in 2022 with 42 tackles, three tackles for a loss, two interceptions and nine pass break-ups, Bride is the one with the most potential to make a serious impact this fall. Look for him to be a starter from day one in Minneapolis.

DB Audavion Collins (Mississippi State to Penn State)
The skinny: Soon after seeing one of their recent defensive back transfer additions, Storm Duck, re-enter the portal and end up at Louisville, Penn State responded by adding Collins. While Duck had more experience, Collins arrives at Happy Valley with a great deal of potential. One cornerback spot is locked down by potential All-American Kalen King, but there is potential to find immediate playing time at the other corner spot and during passing downs. Either way, Collins should add valuable depth to the position this fall.
