The 2024 recruiting news has been in full swing this week. Multiple prospects have been announcing their top schools and commitments, and Mike Farrell Sports will recap the latest news from May 24th.
Gonzaga (D.C.) Edge Announces Top Schools
2024 Four-star Edge Daniel “DD” Holmes announced his top six schools, which included Florida State, South Carolina, Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan, and Florida.

The six-foot-six, 240-pound edge out of Gonzaga High School out of Washington DC is currently ranked as the 135th player nationally (#11 Edge) and second overall player out of Washington DC, according to On3. He has caught steam in his recruitment the past few months picking up multiple power five offers and taking an unofficial visit to Florida State in April. DD has kept his recruitment quiet throughout the process. His official visit schedule is not publicly known, but this summer should be a busy time for him, and we could see an announcement from him once his official visits are finished.
Virginia Wide Receiver Down to Eight
2024 three-star WR Mekhai White has trimmed his list of offers down to eight schools, Tennessee, Maryland, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Virginia Tech.

The six-foot-three, 185-pound receiver out of King George High School in King George, VA, is currently ranked as the 35th athlete in the nation and sixth overall player in Virginia, according to 247sports. He put up a solid stat sheet this past season, recording 37 receptions for 1039 yards and 18 touchdowns. The star athlete has a busy schedule coming up in June. The only publicly known official visit is to Arkansas June 16-18. There is no timeline for when he will make his decision.

2024 four-star TE Jaden Reddell announced his commitment to Georgia, choosing them over schools like Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and others.

The six-foot-four, 230-pound tight end out of Raymore-Peculiar High School in Raymore, MO, is currently ranked as the 22nd player in the nation (Top-rated TE) and the second overall player in Missouri. He had an outstanding junior season recording 49 catches for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns. Despite being committed to Georgia, he does have official visits set up to Alabama (June 2-4), Georgia (June 9-11), Notre Dame (June 16-18), and Tennessee (June 23-25). He is the 16th commit in the #1 recruiting class in the country.
Top 185 Player Heading to Notre Dame
2024 four-star Edge Loghan Thomas has committed to Notre Dame. He chose the Fighting Irish over schools like Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and others.

The six-foot-three, 210-pound Edge out of Paetow High School in Katy, TX, is currently ranked as the 101st player in the nation (#9 Edge) and 23rd overall player in Texas. He took an unofficial visit to South Bend on May 20th and committed four days later. He has an official visit to Notre Dame on June ninth with no other known visits planned. He becomes the 16th commit in the 2024 recruiting class that currently ranks fourth nationally.
Utah QB Staying Home
2024 four-star QB Isaac Wilson has decided to stay home and commit to Utah. He chose the Utes over schools like UCLA, Oklahoma State, Miami, and others.

The five-foot-eleven, 180-pound quarterback out of Corner Canyon High School in Draper, UT, is currently ranked as the 239th player in the nation (#13 QB) and the top overall player in Utah. He took his official visit in April with no other visits scheduled publicly, and he becomes the fourth commit in the 2024 recruiting class that currently sits 49th.
