In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Vols lead for 2025 QB Deuce Knight.

Farrell’s take: FACT

It’s still early but remember that QBs decide in the spring/summer following their junior season so he could be less than a year from a commitment. Right now it’s the Vols and Notre Dame as the leaders for the Mississippi QB, but Ole Miss won’t let him leave the state easily. But if I had to pick a team today it’s Tennessee and that Josh Heupel offense.

2. TJ Lindsey stays home at Arkansas.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Some might disagree here as Texas A&M has been a leader and he just loved his Miami visit. Notre Dame and others are in it for the 2024 DE but Sam Pittman and company are recruiting very well in 2024 and have two of the state’s top players in Courtney Crutchfield and Charleston Collins working on him as well. My gut feeling is that the longer this goes the better for Arkansas.

3. DB Jordon Johnson-Rubell heads to Texas.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The 4-star IMG safety just dropped his top five of USC, Texas, TCU, Ohio State, and Michigan, but the Longhorns are the team to beat. I think he’s a regional recruit who doesn’t go far from home as he was an early Sooners lean back when he was a freshman. He likes Steve Sarkisian and the direction of the program and despite a strong push from Michigan especially, I see the Longhorns here.
