Keon Coleman (Michigan State to Florida State)
The skinny: Coleman waited until the last day of the spring portal window to officially make himself available, but quickly became a priority for many top programs. While Michigan State maintained hopes that they could convince their leading receiver to return to East Lansing, after Coleman took official visits to Florida State and Ole Miss, that likelihood quickly diminished. Teaming Coleman up with returning wide receiver Johnny Wilson, quarterback Jordan Travis and incoming transfer tight end Jaheim Bell gives the Seminoles a potentially lethal offense that could push them over-the-top in the ACC this fall.
Jordyn Tyson (Colorado to Arizona State)
The skinny: The Colorado offense did not have much to get excited about in 2022, but one player who got the fans excited was Tyson. So, when he entered the portal amidst the mass exodus in Boulder, he had plenty of options to choose from. His decision to remain in the PAC-12 at Arizona State will give him the opportunity to play against the Buffaloes while joining a strong group that return their top three receivers from last season. While there will be plenty of competition for playing time in Tempe at the receiver position, Tyson can also make his mark on special teams, where he proved to be potent last season with a punt return for a touchdown.
Kaleb Brown (Ohio State to Iowa)
The skinny: It has been well publicized that the Iowa offense left much to be desired during the 2022 season. The Hawkeyes have attempted to remedy some of these issues through the portal and continued to do that with the addition of Brown. One of the top high school wide receivers in the Class of 2022, he was buried behind a deep and extremely talented group at Ohio State, before deciding that he needed a change of scenery. Soon after he entered the portal, he took a visit to Iowa which quickly led to his commitment. With the Hawkeyes, Brown has the potential to become the top receiver immediately, which should go a long way in revitalizing the offensive unit.
Jordan Hudson (TCU to SMU)
The skinny: SMU has been one of the busiest teams in the country during this portal cycle. Yesterday, they continued their frenzy with the addition of one of the top available wide receivers. Hudson, who had 14 receptions for 174 yards and three touchdowns last season, was immediately linked with SMU since he was committed to the Mustangs in high school before flipping to TCU. This time they got their man, and he should become a huge part of an offense that has added several other intriguing parts in what should be one of the strongest units in the ACC this fall.
Brenen Thompson (Texas to Oklahoma)
The skinny: While Thompson totaled only one reception in nine games during his true freshman season last fall, his entry into the portal was considered a disappointment for Texas. Then watching him transfer to their conference rival was an additional unexpected gut punch for the Longhorns. Thompson brings world class speed to the field, which will likely be utilized in many creative ways by the Oklahoma coaching staff. With three seasons of eligibility remaining, he will likely be eased onto the field, but with his athletic ability he is sure to make an impact this fall and beyond.
