In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. DT Justin Scott heads to Miami.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The Illinois 5-star DT had a great visit to Miami, and the ‘Canes rolled out the red carpet as expected, but this is still Notre Dame trying to hold off Georgia in my opinion. He delayed his commitment to the Irish when that UGA offer came in, and they will have to sweat that upcoming visit to Athens. Miami may have temporarily confused things for Scott and Mario Cristobal is a great recruiter, but I’m hearing his family wants him closer to home, and Georgia would likely be the only exception.

2. DB Peyton Woodyard will stick with UGA.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He was back in Athens for the spring game after good visits to Ohio State and Alabama, and I don’t think there’s a lot to worry about for UGA fans. The California 5-star chose Georgia for a reason — to win national championships — and while the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide have chances to do that as well, the current dominance of the Dawgs is too hard to beat.

3. WR Ny Carr flips to Florida State from UGA.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
His friend and teammate at Colquitt County, TE Landen Thomas, just flipped back to Florida State from Georgia, and the Noles are pushing hard for Carr as well, but he seems locked in solidly to Georgia. FSU is three hours closer to Colquitt County than UGA, but for Carr, that isn’t a factor, and he didn’t grow up the diehard fan of the Noles that Thomas was.
