In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Buckeyes lead for WR Jeremiah McClellan.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The Missouri WR narrowed his list to 12 — Ohio State, Missouri, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, South Carolina, Florida, and Oklahoma — but the Buckeyes are the team to beat and have been for a while. The only issue? Ohio State is involved with so many elite WRs and already have 5-star Jeremiah Smith in this class. But it’s a commanding lead for Ohio State, and if they want him, I think they get him as Missouri, Notre Dame, and others are far behind.

2. TE Trey’Dez Green leaves his home state of Louisiana.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Ole Miss, Alabama, and some Texas schools are involved with the top-100 tight end in 2024, but he lives within an hour of the LSU campus, and there’s no way he leaves, barring a stunner. The Tigers will build a wall around this 6’7″ monster who is smaller than Darnell Washington, but has similar length.

3. UNC can flip James Resar from Iowa.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He’s from Florida and committed to an Iowa team that struggled on offense, so he will likely look at UNC based on this new offer. UNC lost out on Jake Merklinger and Jadyn Davis as expected last week, so they are regrouping a bit and could offer a few QBs, but they like Resar and will push hard and have a chance at a flip.
