Recruiting Fact or Fiction: Air Noland to Ohio State, Duce Robinson’s Upside, Justin Scott

In Mike Farrell’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition, he predicts if Air Noland lands in Columbus…

In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Ohio State has taken the lead for QB Air Noland

Farrell’s take: FICTION

His recent visit went great, but I still have Miami as the team to beat heading into his April 8 decision. He has connections to Ohio State, and the wide receiver recruiting is off the charts, but he’s been locked in on Miami for a while now and knows he can play very early there with a lack of QB depth. Give me the ‘Canes in this one.

2. TE Duce Robinson can be the next Brock Bowers.

Farrell’s take: FACT

He’s versatile and can line up as an in-line TE, a slot, or even outside. He’s no-nonsense with an amazing work ethic and high character, and Lincoln Riley knows how to use him at USC. He could be as good as Bowers if things fall his way, and that’s saying something. That is, of course, if the new USC commit doesn’t choose baseball instead.

3. Notre Dame is the team to beat for DT Justin Scott.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Scott was supposed to have committed by now but delayed his decision following a huge UGA offer a few months back. But his recent visit to Notre Dame was his best, and despite officials set for Georgia and Ohio State, I think ND gets one more final visit, and he lands there. The 5-star from Illinois wants high academics and elite football, and Notre Dame is his favorite.
