In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Georgia gets the biggest break with their three opponents in 9 game SEC schedule.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Georgia is projected to have Florida, Auburn, and Kentucky as their three locked-in opponents once the SEC goes to nine conference games, and that’s the easiest of anyone to me. The Gators haven’t been consistent, Auburn is rebuilding and Kentucky is solid but not nearly at Georgia’s level. I looked at everyone and a case could be made for Tennessee except they get Alabama and Texas A&M but they get LSU. Maybe Oklahoma with Texas, Florida, and Missouri can make a case but to me, UGA gets off easy if this all pans out.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart celebrates with fans after the NCAA College Football National Championship game between TCU and Georgia on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Inglewood, Calif. Georgia won 65-7.

2. Dante Moore plays right away at UCLA.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Collin Schlee is solid from Kent State but the promises made to Moore to flip him from Oregon assure him a ton of playing time. If the 5-star from Michigan isn’t the starter he will have packages created for him and could overtake Schlee if there is any struggle. Moore chose UCLA for NIL for sure but he’s also assured he’ll play early under Chip Kelly.

Detroit King quarterback Dante Moore (5) passes against River Rouge during first-half action on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022.

3. TreVeyon Henderson bounces back with a 1,000-yard year.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I’m not sure how bad his foot injury was, but it required surgery and he’s iffy for the spring. That means he’ll be far removed from his amazing freshman season and the depth at RB for Ohio State is strong so I think they are careful with him and he has a solid year splitting time. But 1,000 yards might be tough.
