Class of 2024 is on the clock, and now that we are two months into the new year, the ’24 recruiting class cycle has begun rolling. One of those players is in Murfreesboro, TN, and his name is Jesse Perry. He’s listed as a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle that attends Middle Tennessee Christian School and is ranked as the 63rd OT in the nation and 23rd overall player in Tennessee, according to 247sports.

His recruitment began to climb back in January when he reported an offer from Middle Tennessee. Since then, he has picked up ten more offers from schools like Tennessee, TCU, Duke, North Carolina, Tulane, Liberty, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina UAB, and Georgia Tech. He talks with Mike Farrell Sports about his recruitment and gives updates on future visits.

“The recruiting process has definitely sped up. It feels amazing seeing all the schools show interest in me. I love being able to create good relationships with the coaches.“

Impressions

With his recruitment picking up, multiple schools have shown interest in him, but a few schools have stood out to him thus far in the process.

“Tennessee, North Carolina, TCU, Vanderbilt, and Duke have been sticking out because of how much they talk to me. Other schools like Auburn and Missouri are also interesting choices, but I’m just waiting on their offer.“

Visit Plans

As the dead period ends on March 1st, the star tackle is looking to begin scheduling visits to different schools across the country as he continues to build his relationship with coaches.

“I plan on visiting Vandy on March 4th, Missouri on March 7th, UT on March 25th, UNC on March 28th, Duke on March 30th, Auburn on April 8th, and TCU on April 10th.“

With Jesse holding 18 offers and possibly more coming, we could see him add more visits to his already busy schedule.

Gameplay

Nowadays, many schools look for athleticism in linemen that they want to recruit for their program, and Jesse has that and much more to his game that coaches find appealing.

“From the schools I’ve been talking to, they’ve all really liked my ability to bend, finish, and my athleticism. Most see me as an offensive tackle.“

Criteria

With more offers on the horizon for the offensive tackle, he tells Mike Farrell Sports what he is looking for in a program that shows interest in him.

“The biggest things I’m looking for in a school is a good education, a competitive program, and a relationship with the coaches.“
