2023 Record Predictions: SEC

Luke Brumm drops his predictions for each SEC team’s record next season.

This article covers my record predictions for each SEC team heading into next season.

Alabama (11-1)

The Tide will be looking to replace Heisman QB Bryce Young, but will have one of the best recruiting classes coming in. With that being said, I have Alabama winning 11 games this season.

Alabama HC Nick Saban.

Arkansas (8-4)

Arkansas was not happy with their record last season and will be looking to prove the doubters wrong. With KJ Jefferson back healthy, I see them bouncing back with a nice eight-win season.

Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson (left).

Auburn (5-7)

I do believe Auburn will start moving in the right direction, football-wise, under Hugh Freeze, but I also believe it will take a couple of years. Therefore, I have the Tigers winning only five games this upcoming season.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

Florida (7-5)

Florida was already underwhelming last season in Billy Napier‘s first season, and that was with Anthony Richardson under center. He is gone now and that recent Jalen Rashada situation doesn’t help. I have Florida winning seven games, and that’s at most.

Florida HC Billy Napier.

Georgia (12-0)

The Dawgs are now back-to-back champs and have a very easy schedule in 2023. I see them running the table once again.

Georgia TE Brock Bowers.

Kentucky (7-5)

The Wildcats will replace Will Levis with NC State transfer Devin Leary. I like this move and see Kentucky racking up seven wins.

Kentucky HC Mark Stoops.

LSU (10-2)

LSU shocked everyone last season and will be returning their quarterback, Jayden Daniels. I have LSU losing to Florida State and Alabama and being a ten-win team in 2023. Although, I could definitely see them winning 11 or even 12 games.

LSU QB Jayden Daniels.

Mississippi State (7-5)

It will be tough for Mississippi State to replicate last season for obvious reasons. They lost their beloved coach, Mike Leach, right before their bowl game. I love Will Rogers and still see the Bulldogs winning seven games.

The Late Great HC Mike Leach (R.I.P).

Missouri (6-6)

Missouri seems to be 6-6 every season and the next one won’t be any different. They still haven’t done enough to reach that next level but aren’t doing bad enough to be a three-win team.

Missouri WR Luther Burden.

Ole Miss (8-4)

Ole Miss had a very rough end to the 2022 season. Lane Kiffin will have to get his guys refocused, and I think he will. I have the Rebs going 8-4 in 2023.

Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin.

South Carolina (8-4)

South Carolina keeps improving each season. With Spencer Rattler back, they should be good again. I have them winning eight games and finishing third in the SEC East.

South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler.

Tennessee (10-2)

Tennessee’s season will come down to the play of Joe Milton, in my opinion. I have faith in him that he can get his accuracy figured out. I have the Vols beating everyone except for Alabama and Georgia this upcoming season.

Tennessee QB Joe Milton.

Texas A&M (8-4)

There’s no way things could get worse in College Station. I see A&M returning to their normal 8-4 in 2023, which is both an improvement and a failure in the eyes of Aggie fans. I have more faith in Conner Weigman than I ever did in Haynes King, and they finally have an OC, so we’ll see what happens.

Texas A&M QB Conner Weigman.

Vanderbilt (4-8)

Vandy had a decent season by their standards last season and won five games. They even beat Florida and a ranked Kentucky on the road. With that being said, they lost transfers, including their starting QB, and I see them regressing to four wins in 2023.

Vanderbilt HC Clark Lea.
