QB Shedeur Sanders (Jackson State to Colorado)

The skinny: While all FCS transfers have an eye on them to see how they adjust to the FBS level, no one will be more critiqued than Sanders this fall. After passing for 6,983 yards and 70 touchdowns during his two seasons with the Tigers, what will his production level be against top-level PAC 12 competition like Utah, Oregon, USC, UCLA and Washington.

ATH Travis Hunter (Jackson State to Colorado)

The skinny: There was some thought that Hunter might take this transfer opportunity to take his talents to a more established program, but he quickly followed Deion Sanders to Boulder. Expected to be used on both sides of the ball, but primarily on defense, Hunter’s athleticism should be spotlighted often this fall.

OL Ajani Cornelius (Rhode Island to Oregon)

The skinny: With most of the offensive line having concluded their eligibility, Oregon knew it would have to add some help through the portal. They accomplished this by adding Cornelius, one of the more highly coveted players during this cycle. An NFL-level talent, he should provide immediate help in Eugene.

RB Cameron Skattebo (Sacramento State to Arizona State)

The skinny: Arizona State was extremely active in the transfer portal, with one of the more intriguing pickups being Skattebo. Looking to replace departed running back Xazavian Valladay, who transferred in from Wyoming last year, he is a combination of power and athleticism who rushed for 1,382 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022.

WR Andrew Armstrong (Texas A&M-Commerce to Arkansas)

The skinny: Armstrong, who had 62 receptions for 1,020 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, joins a revamped wide receiver group in Arkansas that will give him every opportunity to become a star at the SEC level.

WR Kevin Coleman Jr. (Jackson State to Louisville)

The skinny: The former five-star recruit and SWAC Freshman of the Year decided to take his talents to Louisville instead of following Deion Sanders to Colorado. Coleman, who should also contribute as a returner, was a big addition for the Cardinals who needed to add some playmakers at the wide receiver position.

The Best Way to End the Scheduling Debate

Jackson State s Kevin Coleman Jr. (3) points down the field after making a first down during the Southern Heritage Classic between Jackson State and Tennessee State on Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee.

WR Freddie Roberson (Eastern Washington to Mississippi State)

The skinny: After losing Rara Thomas to the portal and Caleb Ducking to graduation, the Bulldogs needed to replenish their wide receiver room. In comes Roberson, who has the versatility to play either in the slot or on the outside and finished the 2022 season with 49 receptions for 779 yards and six touchdowns.

DB Alijah Huzzie (East Tennessee State to North Carolina)

The skinny: Huzzie is a defensive playmaker, who totaled 179 tackles, 12 interceptions and 32 pass breakups during his time with the Buccaneers and was an FCS All-American in 2022. The secondary in Chapel Hill experienced their fair share of struggles last season, so expectations are high that Huzzie will make an immediate impact.

ETSU defensive back Alijah Huzzie (28) stops Vanderbilt wide receiver Will Sheppard (14) during the fourth quarter of the game at Vanderbilt Stadium Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 in Nashville, Tenn.

TE McCallan Castles (Cal Davis to Tennessee)

The skinny: Castles brings NFL potential to a tight end group in Knoxville that is somewhat bare. He will have to battle Jacob Warren for the starting job, but should see plenty of playing time, especially as the season progresses.

WR Drae McCray (Austin Peay to Texas Tech)

The skinny: Texas Tech was looking for a playmaker at the wide receiver position and found one in the portal with McCray. One of the more explosive players at the FCS level in 2022, he finished the season with 75 receptions for 1,021 yards and nine touchdowns. The speedster may also make an impact returning punts.

Nov 19, 2022; Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA; Austin Peay wide receiver Drae McCray (10) catches a pass with Alabama defensive back Jordan Battle (9) defending at Bryant-Denny Stadium
