Prospects in the News

–Elijah Brown, QB, Santa Ana, California (Mater Dei HS), #53 nationally, #6 quarterback, and #5 in CA

Four-star Santa Ana (CA.) quarterback Elijah Brown is rated the No. 6 quarterback in the class and is the No. 5 player in California. He holds over 15 offers, but the Pac-12 conference has five schools that are high on him. Those schools are the Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, USC Trojans, Utah Utes, and Washington Huskies. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Oregon Ducks are the current leaders in landing him, as they have a 46% chance of doing so. However, keep an eye on the Cardinal here.

@ElijahBrown_29 is the 2022 Trinity League Offensive MVP‼️?

3-Year Starting QB with a 29-1 record, Brown led the #Monarchs to

–James Peoples, RB, San Antonio, Texas (Veterans Memorial HS), #76 nationally, #6 running back, and #11 in TX

Four-star San Antonio (TX.) running back James Peoples named his top six schools on Thursday afternoon. Those teams are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas Longhorns. Regarding his top schools, he said, “I am considering all of them, but I don’t think anything can change really. I know which schools I am considering.” Peoples is rated the No. 6 running back in the class and is the No. 11 player in Texas. The Longhorns are the team to beat, as the On3 RPM gives them a 54% chance of landing him. The Houston Cougars are next with a 13% chance, followed by the Horned Frogs at 11%. So Texas is the team to beat right now.

?NEW? 4-star RB James Peoples is down to Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Oregon, and TCU?

–Braylen Russell, RB, Benton, Arkansas (Benton HS), #170 nationally, #15 running back, and #2 in AR

Braylen Russell, a four-star running back from Benton (AR.), named his top 10 schools on Thursday night. Those schools are the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas State Wildcats, Ole Miss Rebels, Purdue Boilermakers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and Texas A&M Aggies. He is rated the No. 15 running back in the class and is the No. 2 player in Arkansas and said that the whole recruiting process had been a ride, “I have received a whole lot of love from everyone.” However, the Razorbacks are the team to beat, according to the On3 RPM, as it gives them a 61% chance of doing so. That is despite the fact that he backed off his pledge to the Razorbacks on October 29. The Rebels are next at 22% followed by the Volunteers at 10%. I still like Arkansas here.

–Marcelles Williams, CB, Bellflower, California (St. John Bosco), #68 nationally, #6 cornerback, and #8 in CA

Four-star Bellflower (CA.) cornerback Marcelles Williams has more than 25 offers, but five teams are high on his list. The LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, USC Trojans, and Washington Huskies are those schools. He said he is in no rush to decide but wants to make one around June or July before the season starts. Williams is rated the No. 6 cornerback in the class and is the No. 8 player in California. The USC Trojans are the favorites to land him, as the On3 RPM has them with a 52% chance of doing so. His brother Max is a defensive back for the Trojans, and he also lives close to USC. So the Trojans are the team to beat.
