Prospects in the News

–Aaron Butler, ATH, Calabasas, California (Calabasas HS), #65 nationally, #6 athlete, and #7 in CA

Four-star Calabasas (CA.) athlete Aaron Butler is rated the No. 6 athlete in the class and is the No. 7 player in California. He has over 25 offers and took an unofficial visit to Athens at the end of January. It was his first visit there, but the national champion Georgia Bulldogs made quite an impression on him that he already wanted to take an official visit. Butler was committed to the USC Trojans before backing off his pledge on January 11. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Trojans as the current leaders to land him with a 53% chance, followed by the Bulldogs at 43%. However, despite USC being in the lead, I like the Bulldogs here. Georgia is the team to beat.

–Brandon Davis-Swain, DL, West Bloomfield, Michigan (West Bloomfield HS), #91 nationally, #12 defensive lineman, and #4 in MI

Four-star West Bloomfield (MI.) defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain was in Boulder the last weekend of January for an unofficial visit with the Colorado Buffaloes. They are now one of his top schools. He said, “It’s for sure going to make one of my top schools.” Davis-Swain is rated the No. 12 defensive lineman in the class and is the No. 4 player in Michigan. He had been committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before he backed off his pledge in December. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Fighting Irish (40%), Michigan Wolverines (27%), and Penn State Nittany Lions (8%) ahead of the Buffaloes (7%) to land him. Colorado may be trailing right now, but he does plan on returning to Boulder for another visit, and we all know how Deion Sanders has been recruiting since he got there. So keep an eye on the Buffs.

–Aeyrn Hampton, WR, Daingerfield, Texas (Daingerfield HS), #77 nationally, #7 athlete, and #12 in TX

Aeyrn Hampton has over 20 offers but named his top seven schools on Tuesday afternoon. Those schools are the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, and Texas Longhorns. He is rated the No. 7 athlete in the class and is the No. 12 player in Texas. However, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and the On3 RPM have the Crimson Tide as the leaders to land him, with the Longhorns and Cornhuskers trailing. However, despite the Crimson Tide being in the lead, I like the Longhorns here. He was committed to the Longhorns at one time before backing off his pledge on November 29th.

–Jeremy Scott, WR, Jackson, Mississippi (Callaway HS), #560 nationally, #70 wide receiver, and #10 MS

Three-star Jackson (MS.) wide receiver Jeremy Scott named his top four schools on Wednesday afternoon, which has an SEC flavor. The Arkansas Razorbacks, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, and Vanderbilt Commodores are those schools. Regarding his top schools, he said, “They’ve been with me from the start, so I needed to take a little less stress off my shoulders, “These four schools have shown me what I needed to see.” Scott is rated the No. 70 wide receiver in the class and the No. 10 player in Mississippi, and the On3 RPM has the Rebels as the team to beat, as they have a 91% chance of landing him. Ole Miss is the team to beat.

–Noreel White, WR, Ocean Springs, Mississippi (St. Martin HS), #275 nationally, #34 athlete, and #5 in MS

Four-star Ocean Springs (MS.) wide receiver Noreel White added a new program to his list of top schools. In January, he named the Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Ole Miss Rebels as his top four schools. On Wednesday, he added the Arkansas Razorbacks to that list. White is rated the No. 35 athlete in the class and the No. 5 player in Mississippi, and he was going to announce his decision on February 7th. However, he pushed that back because he could not take all the visits he needed to make. The On3 PRM has the Rebels with a massive lead to land him with a 95% chance of doing so. Ole Miss is the team to beat right now.

Ole Miss has signed blue chip wide receivers from their own backyard for years. Will St. Martin (Miss.) four-star Noreel White be the next one? He released his Top 5 on Tuesday and the Rebels are in the mix.@OMSpiritOn3 has the latesthttps://t.co/Wous3iURkh pic.twitter.com/1zC5XN83eY
