Prospects in the News
–Mazeo Bennett, WR, Greenville, South Carolina (Greenville HS), #217 nationally, #31 wide receiver, and #3 in SC
Four-star Greenville (SC.) wide receiver Mazeo Bennett committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday morning. He chose the Gamecocks over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, and Miami Hurricanes. He had committed to the Tennessee Volunteers in October but backed off that pledge on December 8. Bennett is the No. 31 wide receiver in the class and the No. 3 player in South Carolina, and he said he chose South Carolina because it felt like home to him. “The consistency with them recruiting me has been second to none. They’ve had my heart for a while now, and honestly, nowhere else feels like home to me.”
Bennett becomes the fifth commit in a Gamecocks class currently ranked No. 6 overall.

The three-star interior offensive lineman from Nevada (MO.) chose the Buffaloes over the Eastern Michigan Eagles and UNLV Rebels, among others. –Kari Jackson, LB, West Bloomfield, Michigan (West Bloomfield HS), #272 nationally, #21 linebacker, and #7 in MI
Four-star West Bloomfield (MI.) linebacker Kari Jackson named his top seven schools on Friday. The Cincinnati Bearcats, Maryland Terrapins, Missouri Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Stanford Cardinal, UCF Knights, and Wisconsin Badgers are those schools. He is the No. 21 linebacker in the class and the No. 7 player in Michigan and has visited the Badgers and Nittany Lions. Jackson says he plans to commit before his senior year but still wants to try and visit the Cardinal, Knights, and Tigers. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Bearcats with a slight lead over the Nittany Lions to land him. Cincinnati has a 14% chance, while the Nittany Lions are at 11%. However, I like the Nittany Lions right now.

–Zycarl Lewis, WR, Tampa, Florida (Carrollwood Day HS), #164 nationally, #27 wide receiver, and #27 in FL
Four-star Tampa (FL.) wide receiver Zycarl Lewis is the No. 27 wide receiver in the class and the No. 27 player in Florida with over 30 offers. His top eight schools are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Tennessee Volunteers. However, he knows at least three schools that he wants to visit officially. The Florida State Seminoles, Nittany Lions, and Volunteers are those schools. Lewis says he has excellent relationships with all three of those schools. Another school that could get one of his official five visits is the UCF Knights. I like Volunteers right now.

–Walker White, QB, Little Rock, Arkansas (Little Rock Christian Academy), #142 nationally, #13 quarterback, and #1 in AR
Four-star Little Rock (AR) quarterback Walker White committed to the Auburn Tigers on Friday, choosing them over the Baylor Bears and Clemson Tigers. He is the No. 13 quarterback in the class and the No. 1 player in Arkansas. Regarding why he chose Auburn, he said, “At the end of the day, Auburn was still in my heart, and I needed to listen to that. For me, everything lined up perfectly for me to go to Auburn: The quarterback situation and just how experienced the offensive staff is at Auburn, and how much they can develop me. For me, that’s my biggest thing. At the end of the day, my goal is the NFL. Auburn has the coaches to get me to that potential.”
White now joins and becomes the third and highest recruit in the Tigers class that currently ranks No. 19 nationally in 2024.
