Rashada, Harbor, Harris Twins and More; Recapping NSD

A lot happened on National Signing Day, let’s recap.

Jaden Rashada to Arizona State

To start the day, Jaden Rashada made his long-awaited commitment following the $13 million drama at Florida. Rashada is headed to Tempe to join Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State. Arizona State is a great fit for Rashada; the only question is the money. ASU does not have the NIL collectives, so it seems like, at the end of the day, he did put the dollar signs aside to make sure he went to the right school.

Nyckoles Harbor to South Carolina

After a battle that seemed to go back and forth between the Gamecocks and Oregon, but Shane Beamer gets the cherry on top for his already amazing class. Harbor is only the sixth five-star to ever sign with the Gamecocks and is clearly a generational talent. With his size and track speed, he is expected to play tight end for South Carolina.

The Harris Twins Split Up

Four-star linebackers Andrew and Michael Harris are surprisingly not going to be walking to class together in the fall. After being committed to UCF for the majority of their recruitment, Michael decided to flip to Maryland. This is most likely due to the fact that UCF’s defensive coordinator left to become the DC at Arkansas.

Rodrick Pleasant Goes to Oregon

Dan Lanning has really proved that he is an elite recruiter with the Ducks, winning yet another battle with Lincoln Riley at USC. Pleasant attributed his commitment to his amazing relationship with Coach Lanning and even said that the coaching staff didn’t know he was committing until the Ducks hat was on his head. The four-star DB adds on to an already loaded class for the Ducks, who already sit in the top 10 for 2023.

Alabama Locks up the top class.

People said Alabama and Nick Saban were on the downfall, that he wasn’t going to be around much longer in this new NIL world, but Coach Saban loves to prove us wrong. Alabama finished the 2023 recruiting cycle with nine five-star recruits, the best-being safety Caleb Downs. Saban may not like the transfer portal and NIL but he clearly can still get things done the old fashion way.

Duce Robinson Delays his Commitment

Duce Robinson is the only five-star left who has not committed or signed anywhere. Currently, a lot of people think he will end up with the Georgia Bulldogs, but it seems like that could not be the case. This recruitment is still completely up in the air and it may be a while until we find out where the top tight end left is going to play college ball.

Walker Lyons Signs with USC

Walker Lyons, former Stanford Commit, is officially going to join Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. This was a complete surprise. Personally, I thought Georgia would have been a better fit just due to how much they utilize the tight end in their offense. Lyons also never took an official visit anywhere other than Stanford after decomitting. All he had were at-home visits from Utah, USC, Stanford, and USC. Either way, this is a big win for Lincoln Riley and USC.
