Poteau High School’s Dax Collins has been garnering more and more attention as the recruiting cycle has gone on. Collins is the #1 ATH in the state of Oklahoma in the 2024 class and plays both defensive back and wide receiver at Poteau. I had a chance to sit down with Dax and go a little more in-depth on his recruitment.
Dax went down to Fort Worth for an unofficial visit to TCU on Sunday. He told me that he enjoyed the visit and that it was a positive experience. “It went great. I had a great time with my family there. The campus was really nice too.”
Thank you @TCUFootball for having me. I had a great time. @seancooper_C4 @DavidRobersond @realCoachG pic.twitter.com/BzFp43tCs5

He told me that he wants to visit the Horned Frogs again at some point. TCU is definitely a team to keep an eye on during this recruitment. We’ll see how long it takes for them to extend an offer. If they do it soon and some other schools drag their feet, I could see TCU pulling off a big win here.
He has a lot of interest in the in-state schools as well. He told me that he’d like to stay close to home, but he isn’t dedicated to committing to an Oklahoma school. Still, the Sooners are the leaders in his recruitment, and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon, especially if they extend an offer. Some other schools that have been pushing hard are Kansas State, Tulsa, and North Texas.
Collins wants to visit Michigan at some point in the process and has expressed interest in taking an official to Colorado. He tells me that he wants to go to more camps inside the state, as well as travel to Las Vegas to participate in a camp at UNLV. I expect Collins to start receiving more and more attention throughout the process as he takes more visits and goes to more camps. The 6-0, 185-pound ATH is a high-character guy that can bring a lot to the table for whoever picks him up.
