Keeping the Momentum Going
Oregon was hands down the winner of the early signing period and this just adds to the momentum Dan Lanning has had on the recruiting trail. Austin Novosad, Jayden Limar, Matayo Uiagalelei, and now Pleasant to add on to that. It is clear that even with the loss of a great recruiter in Mario Cristobal, Lanning has not stepped off the petal.

Where does Pleasant fit in?
The defensive back room in Eugene is stacked. Pleasant is the third four-star DB that Oregon has gotten in the 2023 class. In addition to that, they also have two four-star safeties. This secondary is going to be nothing short of nasty for years to come. With that being said, don’t expect Pleasant to be a factor right away. However, down the road, he will be one of the top guys in this Ducks secondary.
Who else does Oregon have on the Defensive Side in 2023?
I wouldn’t say Oregon now has the best defensive class in the country, especially with Alabama having four five-stars who play on that side of the ball. However, Oregon’s defensive future looks really solid, especially with this addition. Like I said before, they already had Matayo Uiagalelei, but they also had four-stars Tyler Turner and Johnny Bowens.
Will We Continue to See This Level of Recruiting from Dan Lanning?
With the way Oregon has been recruiting as of late, expect them to be a top 5 class for years to come. Not only has Dan Lanning proven that he is an elite recruiter with this 2023 class, but they also have NIL on their side with the Nike relationship. Oregon already has one of the top-ranked classes in 2024 with two four-star wide receivers, Jordan Anderson and Tyseer Denmark. I expect Dan Lanning to keep his foot on the pedal for years to come.
