Shane Beamer keeps the momentum going by signing the top Athlete in the country in Nyckoles Harbor. Harbor is only the 6th ever five-star to go to South Carolina.

It Just Seemed Right
South Carolina always seemed like the spot for Harbor to land. He is friends with a lot of the players already on campus, and the part that everyone is also talking about track. Curtis Frye, South Carolina’s head Track and Field Coach has been an assistant coach for Team USA in the Olympics, and Harbor has publicly made it a goal to make Team USA in the future. Even with being a track and field super-power, that just proved to be something they couldn’t compete with.

Where does Harbor Fit Into South Carolina?
It seems like Harbor will most likely play at tight end for the Gamecocks. Now, Carolina already has two tight ends in this class so, Beamer could use him somewhere else. In general, I do think he could be an excellent replacement for Jahiem Bell after losing him in the portal. Harbor is an even better athlete than Bell; I expect to see him running up and down the field as soon as next season in Columbia.
What does this mean for South Carolina’s Recruiting Class?
Before the commitment of Nyckoles Harbor, this class was already amazing. Beamer already had a good edge rusher in Desmond Umeozlulu and a four-star QB in LaNorris Sellers. Harbor is just the cherry on top. The Gamecocks should shoot up the class rankings and maybe even get above their in-state rival, Clemson. The shift in South Carolina is real now, and it will be interesting to see how it translates into the field in the coming years.
