We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on top prospects from across the country.
Jarvis Boatwright – SAF
Clearwater, FL (Clearwater High School)
Two-way player that has been highly recruited by several ACC and SEC teams. Good height and solid weight. Good acceleration and closing speed, shows solid run support and ability to evade blockers and make consistent tackles near the LOS. Works best as a strong safety when he’s coming downhill pre-snap. Shows good timing and anticipation with designed blitz plays. Solid man coverage skills against WR/TEs in the slot, athleticism and subtle hand usage keeps him in phase. Solid tackler who hits with force and prioritizes wrapping up every play.
Adequate play recognition and reactions when playing in zone coverage. Has minimal experience playing free safety, would only trust him as a strong safety now. Will need more coaching on reading keys against the run, needs to be faster when he’s not working downhill and asked to play as an extra backer in the box. Overall, a solid prospect that will need to continue to add to his frame and develop more confidence and knowledge of playing safety at the highest level. Will be a starting strong safety/Rover in the P5 by his sophomore season.

Izaiah Williams – WR
Tampa, FL (Carrollwood Day High School)
Multi-sport athlete than also runs track. Solid height and adequate weight. Good agility and explosiveness, with solid acceleration and vertical for his size. Shows good long speed on deep routes to stretch the field and also has experience being a reliable returner on special teams. Displays good hands and concentration to bring in throws that are outside of his catch radius. When working in the middle of the field on short/intermediate routes, he shows good awareness and chemistry to adjust with his QB on scrambles to get open. Solid play strength and contact balance for his size after the catch.
Will need to work on his release and use of hands at the LOS to consistently beat press man coverage. Wins a lot now with his athletic ability, I believe proper coaching will help him improve his release/stem effectiveness in college. Continue to add more muscle to improve his blocking/toughness. Overall, a solid WR that I expect to be a starter in the slot by his second season at the P5 level.

Dinellson Exume – DE
Miami, FL (Edison High School)
Gaining a lot of interest in his hometown state from UF, FSU, FAU, FIU, and Florida A&M. Solid frame for a 4-3 DE. Uses his length and good hand strength to provide good run support both on the playside and backside. Does a good job extending out and shedding blocks from OT/TEs to set the edge on zone runs coming to his side and shows good discipline/patience when being read as the backside defender on zone reads. Displays solid upfield burst and pursuit when rushing the passer.
Adequate change of direction, bend and pass rush moves to win with speed around the OT. Adequate tackling and pad level once he gets into the backfield, will need to be coached up and add more muscle to his frame to become a good starting level player in college. I project him to be a solid starter by his second or third season for a good team in a G5 conference like the C-USA or Sun Belt.

Jon Mitchell – CB
Jacksonville, FL (Mandarin High School)
Multi-sport athlete gaining a lot of interest from the B10 and B12. Good height and solid weight. Good range/reactions/mirror ability when playing zone and soft press-man coverage. Shows good peripheral vision in coverage and has the ability to jump routes when playing zone coverage against deep throws. Good vertical and hands to go up and intercept consistently. Solid tackling and run support, has disciplined eyes to read run plays and will fight off WR blocks to set the edge and make tackles. Good pursuit and effort to run down long runs and save touchdowns.
Adequate hand usage and footwork at the LOS playing press man coverage, needs coaching and experience getting his hands and footwork synced together so he can dictate the WR release more often. I definitely think he will be able to learn and develop these skills at the next level. Mitchell is an underrated prospect in my opinion competing in the highest classification of FL high school football. A good prospect that will be a starter for an elite B10/B12 team by his 2nd year, will see snaps as a freshman if he’s able to put on good muscle within the next year and a half.
