Prospects in the News
–Demitrius Bell, ATH, Nashville, Tennessee (McGavock HS), #453 nationally, #30 athlete, and #11 in TN
Three-star Nashville (TN.) athlete Demitrius Bell committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Tuesday afternoon. He is the No. 11 player in Tennessee and chose the Cornhuskers over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, and Ole Miss Rebels. Bell said he decided on Nebraska because of the atmosphere, the fan’s love of Cornhusker football, and head coach Matt Rhule. “This atmosphere is great, it’s a football city, and the fans love Nebraska football. Coach Rhule is a great head coach and is turning the program around. I want to be there for that.”
He joins a Nebraska class ranked No. 23 overall and fourth in the Big Ten.

–Boo Carter, 2024 ATH, Chattanooga, Tennessee (Brainerd HS), #270 nationally, #32 athlete, and #5 in TN
Boo Carter will be in Boulder this weekend to visit the Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders. Carter has a top-five list of schools that includes the Buffaloes, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and Tennessee Volunteers. The Buffaloes were a surprise team on the list, but it is not so surprising now that they have made some noise on the recruiting trail. But, of course, that is all due to Coach Prime. And Carter is excited about his visit. “I will be visiting Colorado for the first time this week on January 28th. This is a visit I am excited about. Coach Prime is one of the best defensive backs ever. Thinking about the possibility of being coached by him is pretty exciting. He is a guy I want to play like and be like. Coach Prime going to Colorado changed things for me. That move put Colorado on my radar, and now I get to visit and see how it is out there.”
The Volunteers are the favorites, according to the On3 PRM, but the Buffaloes could make it interesting depending on how the visit goes this weekend.

–Jaydan Hardy, 2024 S, Lewisville, Texas (Lewisville HS), #146 nationally, #9 safety, and #23 in TX
Four-star Lewisville (TX.) safety Jaydan Hardy will be in Norman this weekend for an unofficial visit with the Oklahoma Sooners. He is the No. 23 player in Texas and has over 20 offers. Oklahoma is just one of the teams who are after one of the top safeties in the class. The Baylor Bears, Florida Gators, Miami Hurricanes, and Texas A&M Aggies are just some of those teams. Hardy visited with the Hurricanes last weekend, and the On3 RPM gives them a 24% chance of landing him, which is second behind the Aggies at 28%. The Sooners have a 6% chance of landing him. Texas A&M is the team to beat right now.

–JJ Harrell, 2024 ATH, Sardis, Mississippi (North Panola HS), #501 nationally, #67 athlete, and #9 in MS
JJ Harrell will make his decision next Monday, January 30. The four-star athlete from Sardis (MS.) and the No. 9 player in the state has yet to name any final schools, but he has taken some visits over the past few weeks and will be in Auburn this weekend to visit the Tigers. In addition, he has visited the Tennessee Volunteers and LSU Tigers on back-to-back weekends and has said he enjoyed them both. Harrell was supposed to visit the Florida State Seminoles and Ole Miss Rebels as well before deciding to go to Auburn this weekend. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Rebels as the favorites to land him, with a 51% chance of doing so, but any of these schools could land him. However, I like the LSU Tigers right here.

–Justin Scott, 2024 DL, Chicago, Illinois (St. Ignatius), #18 nationally, #4 defensive line, and #1 in IL
Five-star Chicago (IL.) defensive lineman Justin Scott was supposed to announce his commitment on January 31st, but he will not be doing so as he wants to take more time to make his decision. He is the No. 1 player in Illinois and has already named his top eight schools. Those schools include the Alabama Crimson Tide, Colorado Buffaloes, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and USC Trojans. Regarding his top schools, he said, “All eight schools, I could see me coming in, being a factor immediately and being able to (have an) impact as soon as I enroll there.”
The Fighting Irish are the big favorites to land him, as the On3 RPM has them with an 86% chance of landing him. The Fighting Irish are the team to beat.
Five-star Justin Scott is postponing his commitment?
