In Mike Farrell’s Fact or Fiction — Portal Edition, he determines if Trajan Jeffcoat can return to an All-SEC level…

In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Trajan Jeffcoat will be All-SEC again at Arkansas.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

He’s a good get from Missouri, don’t get me wrong. But Jeffcoat isn’t the same guy we saw in 2020 when he was all SEC. He’s still an exceptional player but he hasn’t been the QB chaser I saw back then and hasn’t been as effective pushing the pocket.

Oct 1, 2022; Columbia, Missouri, USA; Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett (13) is sacked by Missouri Tigers defensive lineman Trajan Jeffcoat (18) during the game at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium.

2. UGA will add another WR in the portal.

Farrell’s take: FACT

RaRa Thomas is obviously in trouble, and UGA lost AD Mitchell so the depth needs to be addressed still. I loved Thomas and Dominic Lovett as major impact guys for Todd Monken but an additional target is needed and will likely be landed in the spring window.

Nov 12, 2022; Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; Missouri Tigers wide receiver Dominic Lovett (7) after scoring a touchdown against the Tennessee Volunteers during the second half at Neyland Stadium.

3. LB Trezmen Marshall is an odd take for Alabama.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Marshall has talent but Alabama usually goes for players with more experience and more playing time in the portal. Someone sees something here and it will be interesting to see how he impacts but this isn’t a Henry To’oto’o experienced addition.

Jan 9, 2023; Inglewood, CA, USA; Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Trezmen Marshall (15) against the TCU Horned Frogs during the CFP national championship game at SoFi Stadium.
