One of the top quarterbacks in the 2023 class, Jaden Rashada, has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent, or NLI. This figures to be a matter of the inability to come to an agreement on a NIL plan between Rashada’s camp and Florida. Florida still has to grant Rashada’s release from his NLI, but a few places stand out as potential destinations for the talented quarterback.

One potential landing spot is Arizona State. New head coach Kenny Dillingham built a strong relationship with Jaden Rashada while he was the offensive coordinator at Oregon. It was so strong that Oregon could’ve been viewed as the leader in his recruitment at one point. Although the Sun Devils landed transfer Drew Pyne, they did not sign a high school quarterback this class, creating a need for a long-term quarterback answer. Coach Dillingham has created some excitement around the Arizona State program, and landing a high-profile quarterback recruit like Rashada would potentially extend that excitement to other recruits.

California was in his top seven before Rashada announced his decision to commit for the first time to Miami. They are expected to enter the mix again. For a team that went 4-8 and was a bottom-three offense in the Pac-12, landing a top-tier quarterback recruit like Jaden Rashada would give the fans something to be excited about in the future.

Another Pac-12 team to monitor here would be Washington. The Huskies were able to bring back star quarterback Michael Penix Jr but lost four-star QB recruit Lincoln Kienholz, who flipped his commitment to Ohio State. All of this, along with Sam Huard entering the transfer portal, creates an opportunity for Rashada to be the quarterback of the future in an offense that has produced Penix Jr and Jake Haener. Combine that with head coach Kalen DeBoer’s on-field success, and Washington could make a lot of sense for Rashada.

With highly touted quarterback recruit Jaden Rashada’s recruitment opening back up, other schools could enter the mix, but Arizona State, Washington, and Cal should be the schools to watch early on.
